MANIFESTO
Founding Principles
Art Stop War affirms that art does not belong to governments, ideologies, or armies, but to human beings. Each artist participates in the project as an individual, not as a political symbol.
The project recognizes the value of art as a form of ethical responsibility and as a space for the construction of meaning.
Art as an Instrument of Peace
Within Art Stop War, peace is not understood as a slogan, but as a cultural practice. Each artwork presented within the project represents an act of resistance against dehumanization, a gesture of presence that affirms the possibility of relationship even in the midst of conflict.
Art does not stop wars, but it prevents them from erasing our shared humanity.
Rejection of Propaganda
Art Stop War affirms the autonomy of artistic expression and its ethical responsibility. The project does not support the use of art as an instrument of propaganda or as a tool serving political or military agendas. At the same time, it recognizes the legitimacy of artistic works that critically engage with injustice, oppression, and violations of human rights. Art is understood as a space of conscience and testimony, not as a vehicle for partisan agendas.
The project safeguards the expressive independence of artists as an absolute value.
Centrality of the Human Being
At the heart of Art Stop War are not nations, but people. Each artist, each image, each mark is regarded as the testimony of a unique and irrepeatable human experience.
The project affirms that, even in times of war, the human being precedes every flag.
