art contemporary against war

ARTISTS

Artists for Peace

The Artists section brings together those who participate in the Art Stop War project through a clear and conscious choice: to stand against war and in favor of peace. They come from countries currently affected by armed conflicts, yet refuse to allow violence, propaganda, or hatred to define either their identity or the meaning of their work. The reference to the artists’countries of origin does not imply any ideological affiliation or political alignment. It refers exclusively to the geographical and human contexts from which they emerge: territories where war affects daily life, freedom of expression, and the very possibility of creating. Their participation in the project reflects a deliberate and principled decision: to reject the logic of war and to affirm, through art, the value of peace.

Art Stop War offers these artists a neutral and shared space in which art is not an instrument of conflict, but a language of relationship, responsibility, and conscience. Here, the works do not represent one side against another, but rather express the will to defend human dignity, freedom, and the right to life against all forms of organized violence.

By selecting each artist, it is possible to access their biography and a selection of works. Each profile tells an individual story that, although shaped within a context of war, consciously chooses to speak the language of peace. Together, these artists form an alternative cultural geography, in which art becomes a space of ethical resistance and dialogue among peoples.
