Art Stop War has two locations, in Venice and Milan, both conceived as the project’s operational and symbolic centers.
In Venice, the project is based at Palazzo Zaguri, a historic seventeenth-century building located in the San Marco district, in a strategic position between the Rialto Bridge, Piazza San Marco, and the Accademia.
The choice of the lagoon city reflects a precise cultural vision: for centuries Venice has been one of the foremost meeting places among different cultures, a point of balance between East and West, and a space in which dialogue among peoples, languages, and worldviews has generated some of the highest artistic and civic achievements in European history.
Today Palazzo Zaguri, overlooking Campo San Maurizio, is an integral part of Venice’s architectural fabric and a distinguished exhibition venue dedicated to cultural activities and international projects.
In Milan, Art Stop War is based at ArTheoria, in the immediate vicinity of Corso Buenos Aires, at the heart of one of the city’s principal urban axes. The space occupies a former early-twentieth-century stationery warehouse-an elegant example of Milanese Liberty architecture-defined by generous volumes and original decorative details that evoke the city’s era of industrial and commercial expansion, and carefully preserved through an accurate conservation restoration.
ArTheoria is a “creation” of Theoria, a well-established Milan-based organization active in the fields of communication and event production. In this context, the Milan venue takes shape as a contemporary laboratory for ideas and artistic production, strengthening the project’s operational and international dimension.
